SLink - A Service for Optimizing Urban Space Allocation

1. Problem statement

Urbanization in Vietnam has caused a sharp rise in city population density, with millions living in cramped spaces, and overcrowded in large cities.

In 2023, 38.1% of the population resided in urban areas. Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam, had a population density of 4,513 inhabitants per square kilometer, making it the most crowded city in the country. Meanwhile, Hanoi, the capital, had a population density of 2,556 people per square kilometer. Both Da Nang and Can Tho had population densities of around 900 inhabitants per square kilometer.

This has led to significant issues with quality of life and environmental pollution.

Some of the most well-formed solutions for sustainable urban space allocation lie in three main domains: alternative ways of using spaces, sustainable resource management, and sustainable transportation.

2. Our solution: SLink

To tackle these challenges in Vietnam, SLink, a service by Salalabs Vietnam, connects space owners with personal vehicle users in urban areas.

By utilizing AI technology for automated processing and vehicle identification at designated outdoor parking lots, the app allows users to find available parking spaces easily, make reservations, and complete payments in just a few simple steps.

Through this,

SLink contributes to finding parking spaces and beyond, managing vehicles towards developing a civilized and sustainable urban environment.
